Electrode Size: The diameter of the electrodes is 1/8 inch. This information is essential for selecting the appropriate welding equipment and setting the correct amperage for welding.
Electrode Type: ENiCrFe-3 is the classification of the welding electrode. This classification is specific to nickel-based alloys. In this case, it’s designed for welding INCONEL® nickel alloy materials.
Brand or Alloy Name: “INCONEL®” is a well-known brand and registered trademark of Special Metals Corporation, which produces a range of high-performance nickel-based alloys. It indicates that these electrodes are specifically designed for welding INCONEL® nickel alloys.
Weight: The package contains 10 pounds of welding electrodes.
Part Number or Code: “N182-125-10TS02” is a product or manufacturing code used by the manufacturer or distributor for these specific electrodes. It contains information about the product’s packaging, batch, or other internal references.
The intended use and welding properties of these electrodes
ENiCrFe-3 electrodes are designed for welding nickel-based alloys, such as INCONEL®. Nickel-based alloys are known for their excellent resistance to corrosion, high-temperature strength, and durability. They are commonly used in applications where extreme temperatures and corrosive environments are present, such as in the aerospace, chemical processing, and petrochemical industries.
1/8-inch diameter electrodes are relatively standard and can be used for a range of joint thicknesses when welding nickel alloys.
Since these electrodes are designed for welding specific nickel-based alloys, it’s essential to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and guidelines for their use. This includes using the correct amperage, electrode storage, and welding procedures to ensure the best results and to maintain the integrity of the INCONEL® material being welded.
For more detailed information on the specific welding parameters and procedures for these electrodes, it’s advisable to refer to the manufacturer’s datasheet or product documentation that should accompany the electrodes or contact the manufacturer (Special Metals Corporation) directly. They can provide you with comprehensive information on how to use these electrodes effectively and safely.
